Tropical Ants Talk In Scentences

You can create all sorts of messages by putting the same words together in different ways. Some kids paint fine. Some fine kids paint. Paint some fine kids! Animals give messages to one another too. Without words, how do they do it? Some use scents, not sounds. For instance, tropical tree ants make ten different kinds of smells. They combine the smells in various ways, like words in a sentence. Different mixtures give information about nests, food, and enemies. How brilliant!
